The visible signs of Parkinson's disease include shaking, slowness of movement, difficulty of balance, and may include a shuffling walking and muffled speech. what causes parkinson's?
Parkinson's disease is caused when around 80% or more of the bodies dopamine producing cells are no longer producing the chemical. Dopamine enables co-ordinated movement of the muscles. It is a chemical the body produces in the part of the brain called the substantia nigra by nerve cells.
The disease affects around 1.5 million Americans, with around sixty thousand new cases being diagnosed each year. It affects males and females in almost equal numbers, and is not limited to any ethnic or social group.
